IUA announces leadership restructure

The International Underwriting Association has appointed Tom Hughes as director of underwriting, Joe Shaw as director of claims, and promoted Kim Darrington to director of market operations and transformation.

The appointments follow IUA chief executive Chris Jones’s separation of the underwriting and claims roles to enhance technical support for members. Hughes and Shaw, formerly senior executives in their respective areas, will jointly lead underwriting and claims teams. Darrington, with over 20 years’ insurance experience, will lead the IUA’s digital transformation efforts.

Jones said: “The London Market is renowned for its underwriting expertise and claims services are the essential benefit upon which clients judge our industry.”
