The Health and Safety Executive has launched a 60-day public consultation on proposed restrictions on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, in firefighting foams to reduce risks to human health and the environment.
The consultation seeks views on HSE's draft Socioeconomic Assessment Opinion, with stakeholders invited to answer specific questions and submit evidence-backed comments.
The consultation closes on 7 September 2026, with responses from all interested parties who can provide relevant information and supporting evidence welcomed: https://consultations.hse.gov.uk/crd-reach/uk-reach-restriction-on-pfas-in-firefighting-foam/
