Cyber losses in spotlight as CILA unveils new SIG

The Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters has this week launched a Cyber and Technology Special Interest Group.

Chaired by Will Gow, head of cyber and technology risks UK at Crawford and Company, the group will promote collaboration, professional development and improved claims handling standards in this fast evolving area of risk.

John Bissell, executive director of CILA, said: “Cyber losses and the role of AI are an increasingly significant part of the modern claims landscape, demanding both technical expertise and a nuanced understanding of evolving threats and technologies.

“The formation of the Cyber and Technology SIG reflects CILA’s commitment to supporting professional excellence, collaboration and the development of best practice in this important field. We look forward to fostering robust discussion, learning and guidance that contribute to improved outcomes for clients, insurers and claims professionals alike.”

The new group forms part of CILA’s wider reforms to strengthen professional standards and expand member engagement across specialist disciplines.
