MDD, the forensic accounting arm of Davies, has launched MDDi, an AI-enabled platform developed to support the handling of lower-value, high-volume business interruption claims.
Developed in-house by Davies’ technology team, the platform uses AI to extract and analyse business interruption data from financial documents.
The platform seeks to address common challenges in BI claims, including manual workflows, limited transparency, unpredictable adjustment costs, and reliance on third-party administrators and managing general agents.
The solution includes a hybrid support model, allowing users to deploy AI-driven processing while accessing MDD’s forensic accountants where more detailed financial analysis or expert input is required.
Marcelo Fazio, chief innovation and growth officer of MDD, commented: “We’ve designed MDDi, in conjunction with Davies’ in-house technology team, to address common challenges in managing high-volume, low-value BI claims. It helps optimise processes that are often manual and unpredictable, improving transparency and reducing delays in communication.
"By providing real-time insights and scalable workflows, MDDi supports a more consistent and efficient claims experience. Additionally, several of its features have potential applications beyond claims, offering opportunities to enhance other areas of the customer journey over time.”
