International SOS boosts medical evacuation service offering

Security and health risk management services provider International SOS has teamed up with SAF Aerogroup, a European operator of mission-critical aviation services, to deliver aerial medical evacuation services.

Under the agreement, SAF Aerogroup and International SOS will jointly offer on-demand aero-medical services including medical evacuation, disaster relief, crisis response and humanitarian support, backed by established ground medical capabilities.

The partnership will deliver all evacuation models, including standby, capacity enhancement and sustained surge support, and global helicopter emergency medical services capability. Services will be available to military, humanitarian, government civilian and corporate clients across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, North America and the Pacific.

Antoine Multon, general manager, Europe, government services at International SOS, said: “Our collaboration enables fast deployment and reactivity, providing flexibility for crisis and critical missions. Both our organisations are committed to maintaining high quality of service, availability, responsiveness and mission enablement, with the protection and saving of lives at our core.”

Jean-Louis Camus, co-CEO of SAF Aerogroup, added: “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in providing high-quality, turnkey services, safeguarding lives and protecting populations through high-value aviation services, incorporating advanced medical support and cutting-edge technologies.”

SAF Aerogroup, together with its subsidiary Starlite Aviation, will supply rotary and fixed-wing aircraft in compliance with EASA and SACAA standards. Its pilots, co-pilots and aero engineers will be supported by comprehensive maintenance, repair and overhaul services as well as personnel training. The group will also supply fixed medical equipment and resupply capabilities for MedEvac missions. International SOS will supply medical staffing for those missions including flight doctors, flight nurses and paramedics meeting EURAMI standards.
