BSIF takes over secretariat role for Safety Groups UK

The British Safety Industry Federation has assumed the secretariat role for Safety Groups UK, taking over responsibilities previously held by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

BSIF’s goal is strengthen national coordination, deepen engagement with affiliated groups and improve communications across the network.

Alan Murray, BSIF CEO, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to health and safety. “I’ve worked with Safety Groups UK and its local groups for many years," he added. "[Its] contribution to tackling safety and occupational health challenges is vital. With BSIF’s support we’ll continue to help keep the UK’s workforce safer and healthier.”

Safety Groups UK chair, Stephen Laws, added: “This is an exciting new phase. With BSIF’s help we want to build stronger links with local groups, support new ones and grow our connections with leading health and safety organisations.”

Both groups described the partnership as a step forward in advancing shared values and promoting continuous improvement in occupational safety and health.
