Thames Underwriting construction team hires

Specialist construction and commercial lines MGA, Thames Underwriting has announced the appointment of four new underwriters; two based in a new Leadenhall Street office and two in the firm’s existing Essex headquarters.

Stuart Daffin and Paul Savva join from HSB Engineering and Pen Underwriting respectively. Daffin joins as construction new business underwriter and has previously worked at both AXA and Allianz. Savva spent 13 years at Pen Underwriting and will also underwrite construction business for Thames Underwriting.

Also joining the firm are James Skeggs and Don Black. Both underwriters have joined the Commercial Combined/Property team in the firm’s Leigh on Sea office. Skeggs moves from Coast Underwriting where he worked for four years, having previously spent almost 10 years at Towergate. Don Black, a 40-year veteran of the insurance industry joins from MS Amlin.
