Climate activists plan two weeks of protests in London

Climate change activist group, Extinction Rebellion is planning a week of demonstrations in the capital, focused mainly in and around Westminster. Businesses in the area are urged to consider continuity plans and contingencies -- particularly in relation to loss of access and especially relating to the safety of certain members of staff, such as those who are disabled or pregnant.

Whilst gatherings in other areas cannot be ruled out, the protesters are expected to convene here (link to map on protest organiser's website): https://bit.ly/355SsTc

This particular group has held a number of protests across the UK in recent months. The organisers actively encourage civil disobedience, including blocking roads and the obstruction of trains, tube stations and entrances to high-profile buildings.

So far this year, over 1,000 arrests have been made in relation to Extinction Rebellion, something the organisers appear to actively encourage. It should be expected, therefore, that the bandwidth of local emergency services may be reduced at points over the two weeks.
