Cat risk modelling firm, AIR Worldwide has today released its interactive COVID-19 Projection Tool, which provides case and death projections worldwide for the next four weeks. The data, powered by the firm's own pandemic modelling data, will be updated daily to project one day ahead.
Projections may be modelled globally at country level, with outputs that consider multiple variations in data availability and reliability, including under-reporting, the impact of social distancing, isolation, quarantining and other factors.
It is hoped that the scenarios will help provide a greater understanding of how effective containment measures are at mitigating the spread of the disease.
“We’re providing this complimentary tool to give communities, businesses, governments, and insurers a better understanding of what the near future of the COVID-19 pandemic could look like,” said Doug Fullam, director of life/health modelling at AIR Worldwide.
“Additionally, we are making this information publicly available as we feel it’s imperative to leverage our strengths as a trusted data steward to provide services that benefit the greater good.”
