Innovate UK launches fund for smarter supply chains in manufacturing

Technology and manufacturing businesses operating in the UK can now apply for funding to develop innovative digital technologies with the potential for transforming supply chains to make them more efficient, productive, flexible and resilient.

The Innovate UK initiative sets out to support technologies that rethink and restructure the way they supply chains are designed and operated, and offers funding for projects of up to £1.5m. They are looking for projects that improve results from existing supply chains, redesign or re-engineer existing ones, or completely redesign them.

Effective risk management and a confidence in shared data should be among the considerations, as will sustainability and improved decision-making through analytics.

The initiative is launched today, with the deadline for applications set at midday, 7th October 2020.
