Allianz boosts multinational construction proposition

Allianz Commercial has strengthened its multinational proposition to support UK-headquartered businesses taking on cross-border construction projects.

The insurer has refreshed its construction capability across the European Economic Area, providing cover for contract works, contractor’s plant and contractors’ liability.

The proposition is designed to help brokers support customers operating across multiple territories while navigating local insurance requirements.

The capability is aimed at businesses including commercial developers undertaking new builds or refurbishments, mechanical and electrical contractors and civil engineers. It supports UK-based contractors seeking annual policies or cover for individual projects.

Karen Boothroyd, head of construction, engineering and energy at Allianz UK, said: “Construction businesses don’t operate neatly within borders, and neither do the risks they face. Projects, people, equipment and contracts often move across territories, which can make cover more complex for brokers and their customers.

“Our refreshed construction capability is about making that easier. It brings together Allianz’s international reach, local underwriting expertise and a more tailored approach to sector-specific risk, helping brokers support their construction customers with greater clarity and confidence.”

The construction offering forms part of Allianz’s wider multinational proposition, which also covers international insurance requirements across property and business interruption, liability, motor fleet, property owners and professional services.
