P&C specialist Sompo Japan has teamed with satellite data provider ICEYE to implement its Flood Insights solution to enhance its response to flood events and support customers affected by natural disasters.
The adoption of satellite data like ICEYE’s Flood Insights forms part of Sompo Japan’s wider Hikeshi DNA 2030 Project, which aims to enhance regional resilience. The company says that one of the project’s pillars is to strengthen the ability to respond before, during and after natural disasters, helping communities and customers better prepare for and recover from increasingly severe natural hazards.
Yasuhiro “Pete” Tsukahara, CEO of ICEYE Japan, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our presence in Japan and supporting Sompo Japan’s efforts to better serve its customers. By providing rapid and accurate intelligence on the extent and severity of flood events, ICEYE can help enable a faster and more efficient claims response in the aftermath of a major flood event.
“We look forward to supporting Sompo Japan as it continues to strengthen resilience and improve outcomes for customers affected by natural disasters.”
