Rokstone targets supply chain cyber risk with new Athena extension

Specialty re/insurance MGA Rokstone has launched a supply chain disruption extension through its Athena Cyber Division, covering losses arising from cyber attacks affecting an insured’s suppliers and customers.

Backed by US$10m of A-rated Lloyd’s capacity, the extension is designed to respond when a cyber attack on a key supplier prevents an insured from operating or when an incident affecting a major customer prevents it from purchasing the insured’s goods or services.

Athena Cyber was launched in July 2026 by Debbie Hobbs, president and head of cyber at Rokstone Athena. The division is focused on SME, mid-market and large corporate risks.

“We’re out of the starting blocks and already winning the race when it comes to delivering the modern cyber protection businesses need. Our new extension recognises that cyber events disrupt not only an organisation’s own systems, but also the wider commercial relationships on which they depend," Hobbs said. "This is particularly true of SMEs, who are generally less able to limit the impact of third-party incidents. Rokstone Athena is proud to take the lead in addressing this issue and helping businesses worldwide enhance supply chain resilience.”
