English National Ballet warns of possible data breach following cyber attack

English National Ballet has warned customers that personal contact information may have been exposed following a cyber attack affecting its customer relationship management provider.

This week, the organisation wrote to customers whose details are held on its database after being told an unauthorised third party had gained access to systems operated by Beacon CRM.

In the notification, English National Ballet stated: "As one of Beacon CRM's customers, English National Ballet was informed this week that an unauthorised third party had gained access to their system."

The organisation said it had not received confirmation that its own data had been directly affected but was notifying contacts as a precaution.

The information that may have been accessed includes customers' full name, email address, telephone number and postal address where provided. The organisation said the data accessed did not include passwords or payment information.

English National Ballet said Beacon CRM had secured its systems and notified the relevant authorities. It also reported the incident to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Customers have been advised to remain alert for unexpected emails and verify the sender before clicking on links. The organisation apologised, saying: "We are so sorry to be sharing this news. We know this will be concerning, and we're taking it seriously."
