Miller completes acquisition of Dubai-based broker

Miller has completed its acquisition of Dubai-based reinsurance broker Shields Reinsurance Brokers.

Founded in 2017, Shields operates in facultative and treaty reinsurance across specialty classes in the MENA region and beyond, serving insurers, reinsurers and takaful companies.

The combined business will operate under the Shields Miller brand as part of the Miller Group.

James Hands, CEO, Miller, said: “We are pleased to have completed the acquisition of Shields, marking an important step in strengthening Miller’s presence across the MENA region. Building on last year’s acquisition of AHJ, this partnership enhances our treaty reinsurance capabilities and establishes a strategic placement hub in Dubai."

The transaction closed on 31 July. Financial terms were not disclosed.
