Managing general agent Acies MGU has announced the launch of TEDmar International, a new MGA specialising in ports and terminals.

Led by Mark Trevitt and Charlie Newman, the new offering is supported by a consortium of Lloyd’s capacity and offers a full package of cover for ports and terminals operators and port authorities.

The cover spans liability, property, equipment and operational risks and provides protection for port property including buildings, warehouses and hard standings, handling equipment ranging from forklifts to gantry cranes and ancillary port craft such as pilot cutters.

Trevitt joins as managing director. With over 35 years’ experience in the market, he previously led ports and terminals initiatives at Navigators, Travelers Syndicate and IGI.

Newman joins as director of underwriting. He has over 10 years’ ports and terminals experience, from Marsh, JLT and IGI.

With capacity up to US$25m for both liability and property damage sections, TEDmar offers a solution that covers business interruption losses and the various operational assets critical to port and terminal functionality.
