Arrow establishes marine insurance division

Arrow Risk Management has established a marine insurance division.

The new division will focus on marine cargo and logistics risks as well as stock throughput, project cargo, delay in start-up, and liability for logistics operators and freight forwarders.

The practice will support SME, mid-market and large corporate clients across international supply chains, with business written through Arrow's MGA platform, the Arrow Hub.

The company has appointed Wayne Krause as underwriting practice leader. He has more than 30 years' experience in marine insurance across underwriting and broking, having worked in the London Market, North America, Europe and southern Africa. His previous roles include positions at Hollard Marine, Tokio Marine Kiln and Zurich Financial Services, among others.

Mark Harrington, Arrow Risk’s chief underwriting officer, said: “Wayne brings exceptional marine underwriting expertise, international market experience and strong broker relationships to Arrow. His technical capability and leadership experience make him ideally positioned to build a disciplined and sustainable marine portfolio on the Arrow platform.”

Krause added: “I am delighted to be launching the Marine Insurance Practice on the Arrow platform. We see strong opportunities across the marine cargo and logistics market, particularly where clients require specialist underwriting expertise, tailored solutions and responsive service across international trading environments.”
