Iveco has launched a service designed to help recover stolen commercial vehicles, and to support operators following theft incidents.
The new system is integrated into the factory-fitted connectivity of vehicles, and forms part of the Iveco ON platform. It combines vehicle monitoring technology with support from a dedicated security centre.
The system uses artificial intelligence and geofencing technology developed with Targa Telematics to detect unusual vehicle movements. If a theft is confirmed, a recovery process can be initiated.
Operators can track vehicles through the Iveco ON portal and the Easy Daily app. A 24-hour security centre, operated with Targa Telematics, coordinates with authorities and supports the recovery process.
“With Stolen Vehicle Assistance, we help customers react quickly when a theft occurs and recover their vehicle as fast as possible," said Alberto Buttiglieri, product manager for Safety and Security Services at Iveco. "By combining factory fitted connectivity, AI driven detection and a 24/7 security centre, we turn alerts into coordinated recovery actions that keep vehicles available and businesses running."
Across Europe, light commercial vehicles face a significantly higher risk of theft than passenger cars, with the risk rising further in the rental sector. Theft is increasingly linked to organised criminal groups that steal vehicles through fraud schemes before moving them to secondary markets where they are resold or dismantled.
