Optio strengthens Scandinavian presence

Specialty MGA Optio Group has acquired AGS Forsikring AS, extending its Scandinavian footprint following last year’s purchase of Bergen-based S Insurance AS.

Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Oslo, AGS operates in energy, sport and fine art. The MGA manages personal accident claims for Scandinavian sport federations through proprietary IT, provides insurance for cultural institutions, and holds a global presence in energy markets via Lloyd’s-backed binders.

Deepak Soni, CEO, Optio Group, commented: “AGS is a fantastic addition to the Optio group and a further step in our ongoing international expansion. We are thrilled to welcome Lars-Petter and his team. They have built a strong business supported by proprietary tech and strong partnerships, with high renewal rates and a reputation for premium service across the region and with their global clients. AGS’ well-balanced portfolio will broaden Optio’s horizons and we are looking forward to collaborating with the team.”
