Sedgwick launches UK legal services practice

Sedgwick has launched a UK legal services offering, focused on first party property claims and recoveries, with plans to expand into casualty, motor and other specialist lines.

Sedgwick Legal Services Limited will be led by partners John Hinton and Paul Squires. Both are experienced litigators who have long served as advisers to clients in the insurance sector.

“We are delighted to welcome John and Paul to Sedgwick and look forward to delivering truly end-to-end recovery solutions to the UK market. Both will be actively involved throughout the claim lifecycle - from first notification of loss through to litigation,” said UK CEO of Sedgwick, Paul White. “The addition of legal services to our robust claims-handling offerings will mean we can provide more efficient and cost-effective solutions for our clients and their customers. Bringing this specialty in-house considerably enhances our recovery proposition for property claims.”

“We have a clear vision of how to deliver improved results against the traditional legal services model,” said partner John Hinton. “Our team of lawyers and paralegals are able to leverage Sedgwick’s wider claims management expertise and digital capability to provide a high-quality, consistent and simpler service for our clients.”

Sedgwick Legal Services Limited is a separate entity within Sedgwick, authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
