Canopius appoints group COO

Canopius Group has appointed Kate Roy as chief operating officer.

Ms Roy 33 years of industry experience. She joins from Willis Towers Watson, where since 2015 she has held the role of COO for Great Britain and Willis Ltd. She has also previously held senior positions at AIG and Capita Insurance Services.

Ms Roy is a staunch advocate for technological and digital solutions, and has been involved with the PPL board since the platform’s inception.

Neil Robertson said: “Kate is hugely experienced across the gamut of global (re)insurance, with a firm understanding of our business and the markets we operate in. Kate will help shape our future operating model and her energy and enthusiasm will be an asset to our positive distinctive culture and will undoubtably help us realise Canopius’s future ambition.”

Ms Roy will assume her role in early 2022 and report to Neil Robertson, deputy chief executive officer.
