Chris Butler, Principal Consultant, Risk, Resilience & Security, Sungard Availability Services
Chris has worked as a consultant in Resilience and Security since retiring from 20 years of military service in 2012. Initially working in high-hazard industries, notably the UK’s nuclear sector, he specialises in helping Board-level Executives to improve and develop their leadership in a crisis, with a focus on cyber risk. Chris also helps our clients develop their strategies and frameworks for organisational and operational resilience, including leadership development and full lifecycle Business Continuity implementation. Since joining Sungard Availability Services in 2016, Chris has worked with customers in finance, insurance, healthcare, not-for-profit and automotive sectors. He is a fluent French speaker who has a number of clients in Sweden, France, Belgium and Luxembourg, in addition to clients in the UK. SC cleared, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) practitioner, Management of Risk (MoR)practitioner, Change Management, Fellow of the Institute of Leadership andManagement and qualified/certified Level 7 Executive Coach and Mentor. Member of the Business Continuity Institute. Certified Information Security Manager (ISACA).
Tom Holloway, Principal Resilience Consultant, Sungard Availability Services
Tom has worked within Sungard AS’s Business Resilience Consulting Practise since 2017. Prior to joining he was COO of an independent Media Production company with a presence on three continents. Before working in the Private Sector Tom served in the Armed Forces, retiring in 2016 with 22 years’ Regular service, finishing his career as Head of the British Army’s Media and Communications department. He specialises in working with Board-level Executives to improve and develop their capability to manage crises, with a focus on aspects of leadership and communication. Tom also helps our clients develop strategies and frameworks for their organisational and operational resilience, and full lifecycle Business Continuity implementation. Since joining Sungard AS, Tom has worked with customers in finance, insurance, broadcasting, media and market research. He is a fluent French speaker and routinely presents to French audiences at Board and Executive level in France and Luxembourg, in addition to clients in the UK. Tom regularly writes on aspects of business resilience; his articles have been published in national newspapers as well as in industry publications. He presents at Business Continuity (BC) Conferences on Crisis Communications. SC cleared, Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute, Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, APM Project Management qualification, Cyber Essentials, Executive Coach and Mentor (ILM Level 7 ongoing).
Pat Morley, UK Service Delivery Director, Sungard Availability Services
Pat currently has responsibility for SunGard Availability Services UK Service Delivery Operation. Pat has over 30 years IT experience in both public and private businesses, in a variety of sectors including: publishing, local government, leisure & travel industry and finally in availability services. He has held roles in Operations, Service Management, Product Management and Product Development. His previous companies include East Sussex County Council, Reed Business Press, OAG Airline Guides and Comdisco. In 1996 Pat joined Comdisco which was acquired by SunGard in 2001. During this time he has managed the Mainframe, Unix & Intel Teams, had overall responsibility for SunGard’s flagship London Technology Centre and in July 2005 led the co-ordination of SunGard’s recovery of those customers affected by the London bombings. In a similar vein, Pat also managed the largest peacetime disaster recovery response in Europe following the Buncefield oil depot explosion of December 2005. In recent years he headed up various internal operational divisions for both SunGard’s Recovery Services and Managed Services lines of business; set-up a Research & Development team and was also Head of Product & Engineering where he was responsible for the Profit & Loss of existing product sets, as well as the launch of new products and services. In August 2011 Pat moved into his current role as UK Service Delivery Director where he has responsibility for the delivery of service for the UK operation. This encompasses 1.2 million sq ft of operations space which includes 4 fully-resilient Data Centres and nearly 20 Workplace Recovery sites. Key areas for Pat are the upkeep and maintenance of these facilities, Datacentre Operations, Server and Desktop Recovery including telephony and trading stations, Software and Hardware Maintenance, Circuit Management and the Management and Development of the UK IT Tool set to address both existing and anticipated customer requirements. Pat lives in Hertfordshire with his wife Ginny and their 3 teenage children. He is a passionate skier and snowboarder who previously lived in Italy running a ski chalet and rental shop, he also enjoys cycling & walking.
