New technology aims to transform HAVS risk

Reactec is launching a new automated tracking and reporting system which protects employers and employees against HAVS risk. The Reactec Analytics Platform combines Havmeter with a new cloud-based reporting platform and automated data collation to optimise productivity and reduce HAVS related costs.

HSE data estimates that over 50% of all industrial diseases last year were HAVS related. The Reactec Analytics Platform provides information to instantly identify employees most at risk from exposure and helps employers build a case for deploying effective risk reduction plans.

The new tool also compares official tool vibration magnitude with actual vibration trend to highlight variations. This can highlight potential early tool maintenance or operator training, protecting tool operators from higher levels of vibration and tool failure.

Jacqui McLaughlin, chief executive officer of Reactec, commented: “Our new analytics platform is a significant improvement to the way in which businesses can manage and monitor HAVS risk and equipment performance. Keeping employees below exposure limit values is not enough to be compliant with HSE guidelines.

“This system gives health and safety teams the knowledge to reduce HAVS risk while also educating and informing the operators, team leaders and other managers to undertake greater ownership of their risk exposure and reduce what has traditionally been the responsibility of health and safety teams.”
