The Women’s Security Society (WSS) launched last night in the City of London. The WSS is a new and society comprised of women representing all interconnected security disciplines. The goal of the WSS is to encourage the advancement of women across all security platforms in the profession.
The founders and board members of the new society welcomed guests from diverse areas of the security world. Chairman of the WSS, Sue Seaby, introduced the keynote speakers Frank Gardner OBE – BBC Security Correspondent and author. “I was delighted and honoured to be asked to help inaugurate this society. The amount of collective knowledge and experience in the room was truly formidable,” Gardner said.
Janet Williams – former Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Specialist Operations of the Metropolitan Police, also delivered a speech about her own experiences as a security professional.
Charlie Timblin, co-founder and board member said. “We are looking forward to capitalising on the WSS launch with more exciting, upbeat and dynamic events to follow. These events and initiatives will support women working within or entering the security profession and will advocate security convergence…The board and most importantly our guests, who truly believe in this vision, are now the ambassadors of tomorrow’s security industry”.
