The authorities have warned of an increased potential of a terrorist attack in the UK and Europe.

While the UK’s threat level remains unchanged at “severe”, security in public places has been tightened and the authorities have called for extra vigilance on the part of the public as intelligence agencies warn of the particular risk of firearms attacks against civilians in crowded places as well as attacks on public transport systems.

The UK has issued particular warnings with respect to individuals travelling to Germany and France.

Businesses are advised to review business continuity plans and security procedures.
