Alastair Speare-Cole is to join JLT Reinsurance as chief executive. He will join JLT Re as soon as he has completed his contractual obligations with Aon Benfield.
Commenting on the hire, Alan Griffin, chairman, JLT Re, said: "This is a significant hire for JLT Re as Alastair brings some 30 years of reinsurance broking experience. While primarily known for his involvement with UK Property and Casualty markets, he also has extensive experience of Marine, Aviation, Retrocession, Accident Health and Life, and Structured reinsurance. Alastair will be an excellent addition to the team at JLT Re as we continue to expand.”
Mr Speare-Cole is currently a member of the Aon Benfield Executive Committee and chairman of Aon Benfield Securities Limited.
The appointment is subject to FSA approval.
