Integralis publishes paper on cyber crime

IT security provider Integralis has published an advisory paper designed to help organisations mitigate the risk of online crime.

Taking a Proportional Approach to Cybercrime: Joining up People, Process and Technology examines some of the practical steps that businesses can take to protect themselves from the cyber threat.

Alastair Broom, solutions director and author of the paper said: “Considering that cybercrime can be conducted from any location, to any destination, it is not surprising that cybercrime has become an increasingly attractive option to tech-savvy criminals. As organisations become security- aware, the level of threat is becoming more sophisticated. This paper introduces the advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) that organisations now face, and explains why it’s necessary to have informed and integrated counter measures in place. It also addresses the changes in the workplace, i.e. mobile working and how organisations need to adopt new strategies, rather than ignore the associated security aspects. In our experience successful organisations are addressing these new threats and changes in the workplace with integrated technology solutions managed by well-trained trustworthy staff using robust processes."
