Hurricane preparedness guide published

The six-month Atlantic hurricane season, which officially started on June 1st, has begun in earnest early with two tropical storms hitting the United States before the season had even begun. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicted that there will be about "12 named storms with six hurricanes, including three major hurricanes," this season. Adverse weather conditions can pose a variety of challenges including power outages, property damage, disrupted supply chains, as well as employee absences.

If you’re living in an at-risk region, what else should you do to get prepared and ensure continuity of operations?

•Take steps now to secure your home and belongings before a hurricane strikes– fuel your vehicle, stock up on canned food and first aid supplies, and board any windows that might be at risk of breaking during a storm.

•Sign up for your city’s notification program to receive alerts about upcoming storms.

•The National Weather Service provides up-to-date information and forecasts for hurricanes. Check their website for information about your region.
