Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford (CGSC) has announced the appointment of Shaun Hooper as chief executive officer of Cooper Gay & Co, the Group's Lloyd's and London market broker.

He joined CGSC in July 2009 as head of group operations and was previously chief operating officer of Bluefin Insurance Services.

Toby Esser, Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford Group chief executive said: "I am delighted that Shaun has accepted the permanent appointment as CEO of our London business. This is a key appointment and Shaun has demonstrated his ability to drive the business during his time as Interim CEO. CGSC is at a key stage in its development and our continued growth requires a strong and dynamic London presence which I am confident Shaun will deliver with the support of his senior management team."

Hooper was appointed interim CEO of the company in December 2010 and will take up the permanent appointment with immediate effect.
