DWF and Fishburns complete merger

DWF and Fishburns have completed their anticipated merger. The firm now has over 2,000 staff and 13 offices throughout the UK and Ireland.

Andrew Leaitherland, managing partner and CEO of DWF, said: “This merger further cements our position in the insurance market and will support our endeavours to continue attracting the best talent. Most importantly, Fishburns’ professional indemnity experience enables us to raise the bar around client services, allowing us to anticipate client needs and to deliver commercial solutions.”

Paul Berry, national head of insurance at DWF, added: “Over the last four years, our London team has made great strides in growing our casualty work. Now, thanks to the merger with Fishburns, we will be able to offer the same high quality service to our clients for professional indemnity work. By combining our specialist expertise, we will be able to provide our insurance clients with a complete portfolio of services on a truly national basis.”

The merger completion follows the announcement of DWF’s year-on-year positive growth for the six month period to October 2012, achieving an increase of 39% compared with reported results from October 2011.
