Dual announces new capacity providers

Liberty and Barbican are to join Arch, Hiscox and MSIG as capacity providers for Dual's global financial lines portfolio.

"This is an extremely important strategic step for Dual; broadening our insurer relationships is a key element in our geographic and product growth and brings further balance to our business," comments Damien Coates, CEO of Dual International. "It is particularly important to us that insurers of the quality of Arch, Barbican, Hiscox, Liberty and MSIG see the strength in our technical distribution capability and growth plans. I am excited to welcome Barbican and Liberty on board, and I would like to thank Arch, Hiscox and MSIG for their longstanding support as we continue to build Dual.

"Alongside our expansion into other product lines such as General Liability, Financial Lines continues to represent our core expertise and the significant part of our business. Additionally, we continue to expand geographically, as evidenced by our recent office launches in Austria, New York and Singapore.

Dependent upon the regulatory environment in which the capacity is deployed it may be provided as reinsurance or via a Lloyd's syndicate operation, bringing additional flexibility to our growth."

As part of this process Dual has appointed Beach & Associates as broker on its global financial lines portfolio.

Gordon McBurney of Liberty commented: "Dual's strong infrastructure and recognised expertise in SME financial lines makes for an exciting alternative distribution platform, which Liberty are delighted to be supporting."

Mark Harrington, CUO of Barbican said: "This partnership is an important new venture for Barbican, giving us access via Dual's specialist underwriters to markets in which we do not currently operate. We are looking forward to continuing our journey with Dual."
