The latest Google attack, apparently originating from Jinan in the PRC demonstrates how even the very biggest players are susceptible to systemic procedural failures which can compromise data.
But while Google has said the attack came from within China, Beijing has denied any connection to the hack. When it comes to prosecution, one of the key issues with digital attacks is finding the perpetrator.
As the digital threat has become increasingly apparent across the globe; 2011 has seen some of the world’s largest corporations come under indiscriminate attack and, in notable cases, left facing a PR battle to save the reputation of their brand. Efficient mitigation of this ever-evolving risk in today’s technological climate is becoming more and more vital on a daily basis.
