Beazley selects Hazelwood for K&R response services

Beazley has selected Hazelwood Street Consultants to provide response services under its kidnap and ransom (K&R) insurance policy.

Hazelwood Street has entered into an exclusive relationship with Beazley to support insured clients. The Beazley policy provides corporate and family cover supported by a suite of services from Hazelwood Street, including crisis planning and management, training, negotiation advice and trauma management.

Hazelwood Street's team has worked together for more than 15 years, providing guidance to resolve over 300 kidnaps around the world. The team of response consultants has global reach and experience and includes trained psychologists and former senior military and diplomatic personnel, equipped to provide a comprehensive and supportive service.

Michael Sharp, K&R underwriter at Beazley, said: “We are delighted to be working with Hazelwood Street. The company's consultants are among the best and most experienced in the business. Every kidnap situation is different and the wide ranging experience amassed by Hazelwood Street's consultants over the years is an enormously valuable asset in helping ensure the safe return of kidnap victims to their families.”

Ambassador Cresencio Arcos, chairman of Hazelwood Street and former US Assistant Secretary of State said: “Kidnapping is like a cancer – it appears suppressed in one location, only to crop up in another. No part of the world can be declared definitively safe from the threat. We are delighted to be partnering with Beazley to help Beazley clients secure the safe release of their employees or family members.”
